The al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, reported that several hostages were killed during an Israeli operation in the al-Nuseirat refugee camp and surrounding areas in central Gaza. Abu Ubaida, spokesperson for al-Qassam Brigades, stated on Telegram that while Israel managed to free some hostages, others were killed amid the operation. Four hostages, held by Hamas since October, were rescued by Israeli forces on Saturday. Concurrently, Hamas officials reported over 200 Palestinians died in Israeli airstrikes in the same vicinity. Although it’s unclear if the rescue and airstrikes were part of the same mission, both occurred in the densely populated and contested al-Nuseirat area. Abu Ubaida warned that such operations pose significant danger to remaining hostages.
