February 19, 2024 – Britain’s biggest night in cinema — the 77th British Academy Film Awards — saw Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer win seven awards, including Best Film, Best Director and Best Actor for Cillian Murphy.
Poor Things also did well with five awards; the other big winner was The Zone of Interest. The film about the Holocaust won three Baftas, including the Best Film Not In The English Language category.
The biggest-grossing movie of last year didn’t get any love in the end. Barbie had five nominations and came away with none.
