Augusta ontvangt Masters in november zonder publiek
November 12, 2020 – November 15, 2020 – The U.S. Masters tournament at Augusta National Golf Club will be held without spectators for the first time. The competition was already postponed from its usual slot in April because of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The coronavirus has caused major upheaval across this year’s golf season, with the Masters set to be the final major of three, as opposed to the first of four.
The PGA Championship in August and the U.S. Open in September both took place without spectators, while the British Open was cancelled completely.
It will be the first time since the Masters tournament began in 1934 that fans will not be present.
